The Different Types of Dental Crowns

The Procedure for Dental Crowns

Next, the dentist will take an impression of the tooth, which will be sent to a lab where the crown will be fabricated. Until your permanent crown is ready, a temporary crown will be placed over the tooth. Once the permanent crown arrives, the temporary one will be removed, and the permanent crown will be cemented.

Types of Dental Crowns

Metal Crowns

These crowns are made of gold alloy or base metal alloys and are very durable. They can withstand chewing forces well and last for many years. However, they are noticeable because of their metallic color.

Porcelain-Fused-To-Metal Crowns
